Week of November 23
Sorraya finally got to wear this beautiful little dress to church.
It was a hand-me-down with the tags still on it.
I couldn't wait for her to be old enough and it looks so pretty on her!
She loves to rub her tongue back and forth on her top tooth!
Monday morning, we started potty training Ryken!
He has done so well!
After a big Costco trip, the kids loved climbing, building and using their imagination with all the boxes!
He made a horse!
A beautiful Sundog greeted us the morning after our first over an inch snow fall!
They loved playing under the table together!
Happy Thanksgiving!
On Friday, he completed his pee-pee chart and is able to get a new ball of his choice!

We had our deck built a month after we moved into the house!
A year later...a man comes to inspect the deck and tells me that we need to nail the deck to the house or it will slide off. Chris was gone in Chicago when the inspector came...so we didn't get around to it right away. Chris looked last weekend and sure enough there were 12+ (2 nails for each) brackets that were not nailed to the house. Our deck was basically leaning up against our house but not secure. The men who built our deck 1) never finished the deck and 2) did not communicate that they were "done" so that a inspector could come out and look at it.
So a year later and the deck has moved and shifted and there are gaps. Chris wasn't even able to nail in a few because there was such a gap.
It was all very disappointing.
But we are thankful that the deck did not slip off. We are thankful that the Lord kept all of us who have been on there safe.
And Chris will be emailing the pictures to our builder in hopes of getting some money back!!
Cause really... how irresponsible!
Chris is a good example of saying "Yes" when it would be easier to say no.
We were running some errands on Saturday and Ryken asked to go on Dad's shoulders instead of the cart! He said yes! Ryken loved it!
The kids loved riding around the store in this school bus! It was fun that Raya got a chance too!

Wow! How scary about the deck! What a praise that it didn't fall with you guys on it! Hopefully it will be a quick (inexpensive) fix! What a fun grocery cart for the kids too! And is that an Arsenal beanie that Chris is wearing? ;)

ReplyDeleteOh wow! Definitely scary that the deck wasn't properly attached! Some people... I am not sure how they have and keep jobs :/
