Sorraya: 11 Months

Eleven months of enjoying this sweet little girl!

Sorraya has such a personality!
She is sunshine, she is spice. She is sensitive, she is determined. She is quiet, she is loud. She is laid back, she is stubborn.
Her smiles are generous and sweet. She is not shy to let you know how she feels about something. She will scrunch her noes and "yell" when things aren't to her liking. She is sensitive when she falls, but she bulldozes her way through toys and small spaces to get where she wants. She can sneak around the room without anyone knowing, and she can squawk, "yell" and jabber till the sun goes down. She can go with the flow and do what you want her to do, and she can arch her back and twist and struggle to make her desires known. She is quite the character.
She loves to be around people. She loves to be close to her brother and be involved with what he is playing with.

Sorraya is obsessed with standing. Any chance she gets she will be up on her feet. She pulls herself up on any and everything she can and that will hold her weight. She is aware of her ability to reach for things and is not afraid to try. She hasn't shown much interest in letting go and standing or taking steps solo. She sure is cute crawling all around. Those teeth of her's sure get some good use out of them - she chews on everything and loves things in her mouth. She has 4 teeth - front two on top and bottom. She does like to bite. Toes and shoulders are her favorite. She also grinds her teeth! - which is awful. She scrunches her nose and sniffs and makes silly faces. She will go back and forth with you if you do it to her. Her hands and feet are always moving in circles. She loves to pull her socks and shoes off. She likes to chew on shoes too! She points with her index finger at things. She loves to slide on the wood floor. She will pump her legs while laying on her belly and have a blast. She can wave. She can clap. She has her tongue involved when she plays and talks. She likes to rub her tongue on her top teeth. She loves climbing under things like high chair or table. She likes crawling in the tunnel. She loves to bounce and be bounced and has enjoyed the Johnny jump up more. She moves and bounces to music when she hears it! She "sings" along when we sing at church or at home.  She loves to scrounge around and find any and all crumbles on the ground. She is quick to put things in her mouth. She has enjoyed the pine needles from the Christmas tree this month. She finds joy in pulling the hand towels down that are hanging in the kitchen. She does not seem to care for things on her head. She enjoys the bath so much. She loves to splash. She also has to be asked to sit down a lot in the tub. She is so ticklish - especially on her back. She will just melt to the ground when tickled on the back.

Sorraya continues to increase in her ability and enjoyment of eating. She loves yogurt - it is her favorite. Any flavor. She also enjoyed puffs and is great at using her pincher fingers! She also enjoys picking up small pieces of baked apples as well as small pieces of banana. She is a no veggie girl. She only gags on every kind we have tried so far! We are working on that! She likes pureed peaches, pears, applesauce, bananas as of now! She sure shows herself to have a big appetite. She does not care for a bib around her neck and as fast as you putting it back on she is pulling it off again! She will often wipe her tray with her bib and clear off any puffs that may be on there! She enjoys dropping food on the ground. She even leans over the side of the high chair and watches it fall! haha! She seems to slowly be not wanting milk as much as before, but she still nurses quite often.

Sorraya continues to be a good sleeper. She wakes up anywhere from 7:30 to 9:00am. She pretty much naps once a day for two hours or so. But here and there she gets an early morning nap. She and Ryken sleep at the same time - which is nice. She still is very easily put to sleep while driving in the van. She sleeps on her belly with her feet tucked under her most the time. She enjoys having her head in one of the 4 corners of her crib with her head touching the sides. She usually wakes up happy from the nights sleep or naps. She likes to stand and pound on the rail of the crib when she waits for us to get her. She will lay her head back down if we don't come fast enough for her. When we do open the door, it still squeaks  but I really don't want to fix the squeak because I love her reaction when she hears it) and as soon as she hears it she scrambles up to see who it is, with a big smile. She goes to bed anywhere from 8:00-8:30pm. She usually wakes up right before I go to bed. And then sometimes again in the early morning. She pretty much is nursed to sleep each time she sleeps. She is capable of falling asleep without milk during the day - but at night, she has not shown herself to do that very well. I really don't mind it - plus, I enjoy the quiet time just her and I!

Sorraya weighs 18 lbs 3oz and is 28 inches long at 11 months old.

She is a delightful little girl and we can hardly believe that she will be turning one in a few short days!
