This Sunshine girl is 5 months old!
Found her toes this month!
Loves sucking on her fingers!
Just keeping it real! She was all done!
Ryken wanted to join in! He laid down and smiled so nicely!
He cracks me up!
She is our laid back little girl. Very much go with the flow. She loves to be talked to and interacted with. I have caught Ryken and Sorraya laying on the floor together or just by each other and they are just both laughing. Sorraya will hear Ryken across the room and you will just see her smiling and enjoying his chattering or singing. Sorraya loves it when Ryken comes and shows her toys. She loves watching him and will often be seen arching her back to follow him around.
We went to Bismark for the long weekend this month. She is a great traveler. She went to the zoo for the first time! She moved to size 2 diapers this month. Sorraya was in her first parade this month - Teddy Bear Parade. Sorraya made her daddy extra thankful on Father's Day this year. Sorraya got to make paint footprints as well as salt dough footprints.
She is laid back, but she has a strong dose of tenacity. She doesn't give us easily. She is a doer. We have noticed on the changing table she flops around a lot and pushes her bum in the air or kicks or just wiggles and squirms around. She is making it harder and harder to change. We have to pin her stomach done to get a diaper on her. Pretty much as soon as she is set on the ground, she is off to rolling over. She is obsessed with being on her stomach. She will often "fly" when on her stomach...feet and hands off the ground. She is getting so strong with holding her head up and pushing up with her arms. She has started grabbing at toys while on her tummy as well. From time to time she will pull her knees up and push along the floor to try and move. She wants to be moving so much more. She can successfully roll back to stomach and stomach to back. She really enjoys her bouncer. She loves to just kick her little legs and her arms sort of pump at the same time. She is often seen trying to turn over in the bouncer...thankfully there is a way to keep her in. She loves it when Ryken comes and bounces her in the bouncer...since it is a little more rough bounce than usual. We got her a teething necklace this month and she is slowly figuring out how to use it and keep it close to her mouth. She loves with daddy "eats" at her belly. She will pull her legs in and just giggle and smile! She watches very closely if she is in your arms and you drink or eat something. She loves to grab onto things...hair, shirts, toys. She loves bath time. Sorraya is a good traveler - she sit nice in her car seat and will talk and chatter, sleep or play with her frog toy on her carseat. She likes to be carried around in the carrier when we are out and about running errands - she will lean to one side and lick and sort of chew on the side of the carrier. She loves her fingers in her mouth. When you change her and have to pull her hand down to put it in the shirt, as soon as you let it go, back to the mouth it goes. She often has her mouth open - when you come in the kiss her or come talk to her, it's open. She's like a little bird waiting for food from her mommy. Chris calls her a little baby robin. With an open mouth, there is often a smile behind it.
Sorraya continues to be a good sleeper. She wakes up anywhere between 7:30-9:30. I love getting her in the morning - she smiles and stretches and you can't help but smile. Sorraya sleeps swaddled as of now. A rare occasion she will have a nap unsaddled. This month she has started rolling over while swaddled. We are slowly starting to wean her off the swaddle. She will often rotate 180 degrees while in her crib. Some days when she wakes up she will just be squealing happy noises and chattering in there. She is so quick to give you the biggest smile when you go in and get her from a nap. During the day, she usually has a nap in the early afternoon and then one in the late afternoon. She still falls asleep when laid down awake with a very little fight. She goes to bed for the night right around 9pm. She continues to sleep through the night. Rare occasions she will wake up around 11 for a little snack and then be good till morning. Or she will wake up early morning around 5 or 6 and then sleep in later.
Sorraya eats every 2-3 hours during the day. From 7-8 pm she will cluster feed to prepare for the long night ahead. She still spits up a lot, and we go through a lot of rags, especially since she is loving being on her tummy. The pressure on it, increases the spitting up all the more.
Sorraya is 12.6 lbs and is 23 inches long.
Sorraya Adira is a fountain of joy!
We are so thankful for her as part of our family!
