Week of July 27
So one day as we were driving, I saw these sprinklers going at a park close to us. I happened to make note of the time they were going in my mind. So this week, we got in the car and went to go play in the sprinklers, hoping they were going, since I didn't remember what day it was. :)
But they were! YAY!
He had fun running around. He didn't really run through the sprinklers that much. The mist from the wind blowing the water got him often, but he stayed pretty dry.
Feeling the water fall on him.
After the sprinklers, we took a walk and found this little floating dock with picnic tables on it in a little manmade lake in an neighborhood and there were ducks. It was a fun little surprise to stumble upon.
Ryken liked the ducks!
We will have to come back for a lunch or dinner and feed the ducks!
We went to the splash pad again and enjoyed ourselves!
Ryken ran around like crazy, being wild and loud!
And Sorraya and I watched and enjoyed the show...along with many other onlookers! haha!
Love watching him have such a great time!
So thankful this is close to our house and it is free!
One night dad had a meeting, so we took a walk and kicked the soccer ball around in a grassy field together.
This picture makes me laugh and reminds me of what is most important.
In this picture, it is hard to tell, but I have freshly painted toenails :)...but it was worth messing them up to kick the ball around with my sweet boy!
Friday lunch at the airport!
Chris joined us again today! Yay!
A plane had just landed here!
Sweet kisses from daddy!
We tried out the pool that Chris' mom handed down to us earlier this summer.
This is as far as he got in.
The water from the hose was so cold...I didn't blame him!
So instead he poured water all over and had a blast!
Joel and Lorretta brought us supper on Friday night.
They usually come over to see the kids during the day, but never get to see Chris. Joel and Chris used to work together. So they asked if they could bring supper over one night and we couldn't argue! We always love their company and Ryken does too!
He was helping Grandma Lorretta wash the dishes!!
Celebrating ordinary moments that make life extraordinary!

You are such a great mom to look for fun things to do with the kiddos! I am looking forward to the fall so I can do some fun outdoor things too! And get those Jamberry nails… kicking the ball won't ruin those! ;) What fun memories you are making!
ReplyDeleteHow special! The types of things you post in these day 2 day joys are the ones that Ryken will probably remember the most! The little things his mommy went out of her way to do for him! Does he have a full on wetsuit?!?! Cute! Gearing up to go to the splash pad in the winter in Fargo! ;) And with the pool - Katie has a bigger blow up one in her backyard and says that it warms up by the afternoon. So maybe if you filled it up in the morning and then let him play in it after his nap it would be warmer! Just an idea!
ReplyDeleteIt's not a wetsuit, just a swimsuit that covers and protects more! And thank you for passing on the idea about the pool! Good to know! Will give that a try!
