Year and A Half Update

Ryken Christopher is 18 months, 1.5 months, a year and a half!!!
Boy oh boy is he quite the character.
He weighs 21 lbs 15 oz and is 30.25 inches tall.

Ryken is learning so much these days. He is a little sponge and it is one of the most exciting things to see him learn and grasp new concepts and get things.
Ryken has a list of words that he says or trys to say that we can understand:
Hi
Bye Bye
Ball
Bottle
Pouch
Shoes "oes"
Josiah "iah"
Papa
Mommy
Daddy
Puppy
Water
Banana "ba"
Grapes "Gray"
Dance
Bath
Baby
Outside
Eat
Uh-oh
Night Night
Stick
Cracker
These are just the ones that I can think of!
He has become much better at communicating, which has been so nice!

-Ryken found out he will be a big brother to a little sister in January.
-He now sits in a big boy seat in the car and seems to enjoy seeing more out the window from being up higher.
-He gives kisses.
-He loves to say hi and bye bye to any and everyone who goes by.
-He is a good eater, has become more picky on things, but still eats plenty good.
-He continues to go down to naps and bedtime very well.
-He loves sitting and listening to mom and dad sing Psalms to him before bed.
-He has been improving with his helping to clean up.
-He is very aware of what is going on around him, if a microwave, washer/dryer, phone beeps...he says uh-oh to get our attention.
-He knows many routine things and keeps up with it:
*He puts his dirty clothes in the laundry basket.
*Before we go bye bye, we put our shoes on and open the garage
*When we come home, we take our shoes off - he will start undoing the velcro in the doorway
*Before a bath, he tugs on his clothes to get them off
*When Chris doesn't have his glasses on, he makes sure to get dad's
attention to put them on.
*Takes his bib off when he is done eating
-He loves to close drawers or doors that are left open.
-He does good at keeping his sippy cup in the kitchen to drink it.
-We have started Tot school at home and have been enjoying learning about shapes.
-Ryken loves playing with household items: bowls, spoons, measuring cups, muffin tin pan, spatulas, empty Kleenex boxes, boxes, water bottles...

Our little Ryken pants is always on the move.
He runs around far more than walks.
He loves to dance and asks for music to come on.
He is a busy, busy little guy!
He has become far more affectionate, which is a nice little change. He will come in for a quick snuggle and then be back at it.

We love our Ryken.
We are continuing to work hard on getting through to him with discipline. He is stubborn, very strong willed and will. just. keep. fighting.
We continue to pray for God's help often in wisdom in how to discipline.
Ryken can be just such a little lover and sweetheart. We love him more and more each day and are so thankful for God's gift in our lives and family!
