Sorraya Adira is 6 months old!
Half a Year!
This little bundle of joy is such a gift!
We thank God for adding her to our family!
Sorraya has continued to be very laid back. She is a joyful little girl. Always quick to give a smile and beam at you. She loves people and interacting with them. She enjoys keeping up with her big brother and all the action he provides for entertainment. I will just see her smiling at him, as she is watching him play. She loves to bounce in her bouncer. She pumps her legs and get the bouncer going so much that it gets a rhythmic sound to it. It is quite funny. She has started to grab at and play more with toys. She has a fish that she holds onto and swings her arms up by her head and then back down on her sides. She really has come to love the teething necklaces. She can get the necklace to her mouth now and she often puts two circle beads in her mouth and then just chews away. She loves chewing on her feet as well. She will pull them up and just gnaw on her big toe. It's hilarious and looks very uncomfortable. She will play with her feet a lot now. Mostly in the bouncer or in her car seat. Sorraya seems to really like the outdoors. The wind blowing and the fresh air seems to be a favorite. She is one ticklish little thing. Her neck, chest and sides the most. She just giggles and laughs, and boy does she squirm. Sorraya likes to hang upside down for shorts amounts of time. She just grins. She loves to be thrown in the air and caught when she lays on her back. She will just get into a tuck position and enjoy it and laugh along the way. So trusting and relaxed. She loves to have noise made at her. She likes when we talk and nibble in her ear. She is working on sitting up. Starting sitting in the Bumbo this month. Getting stronger and stronger, but still a ways to go. She sure is scooting around these days. She finds her way around the room and to toys with no problems. She is working on getting her knees under her and starting to get the motions for crawling. She loves being on her tummy over her back. She loves the water during baths. I put her in and she just smiles. She still spits up plenty. She is a good sport in her carseat. I love to look back at her and just see her looking out the window, smiling at Ryken or playing with her feet. She had a couple weeks where she started spitting and blowing bubbles - but it was short lived. Once that stopped, she has started grunting randomly.
Sorraya went to her first baseball game and to the Fargo Street Fair for the first time.
Sorraya continues to be a good sleeper. She wakes up so sweetly and greets you with the biggest grin. She goes to bed for the night around 9pm. She has started waking up more lately. Either once early on in the night, or early morning. If she doesn't wake up, she will sleep till 7:30-8:00am. But if she does wake up early morning around 5 or 6, I can feed her and she will fall back asleep and sleep till as last as 9:30 some days. She is still fully swaddled at night. She sleeps swaddled with one arm out during naps and is doing very well. If she is up early, around 7-7:30, she likes a nap around 10. If she sleeps in later, she can usually stay up till around 12:30-1:00pm, when I put both kids down. She seems to take a short cat nap after nursing most days, which helps hold her over till the 1:00 nap. Although, if we are running errands around 10-11am, she always falls asleep.
Sorraya is still nursing exclusively. She eats every 2.5-3 hours or so. We plan to try some rice or oatmeal cereal in the near future. We have noticed her being very interested in what we are bring to our mouths when we are holding her and eating and drinking. She quickly reaches out to touch what she can.
She weighs 13lbs 6oz and is 24 inches long!
We love our little sunshine so much and are so thankful for her and her sweet demeanor.

Love reading these updates! I can picture her sweet relaxed demeanor when I read your post and can't help but smile! I am eager to see that sweetie (and ALL the Brucks) again hopefully soon! And the pictures are absolutely adorable as well.
ReplyDeleteWow! Sorraya can manage to stay up later than Jace!! Haha. My little monster is ready for a nap still by 11:15-11:30 most days. Sometimes we can stretch it to 11:45. What a sweet little girl. I can't wait to meet her!
