Week of October 18
Sunday Best!
What she loves the most at the park!
We went to see the Marching Band this week...but it was extra special this time for 3 reason!
1) We got to go into the Fargo Dome! We had never been inside! It was a treat!
2) Ryken got a shout out from the whole band again!
3) We had the privilege of showing the band our thanks through cookies!
It was so fun hearing them play in the Fargo Dome, you could hear the band so much better!
She kept running onto the grass and getting closer!
My sweet boy! Love that smile!!!
Ryken asked if we could make cookies for the Marching band! I said yes!
After making lots of cookies for all 180 members...we brought them and Ryken did a fantastic job passing them out! He shined actually! It reminded me of when he helps Chris pass out bulletins at church- he runs to someone across the room to make sure they got one! :)
Everyone was so sweet and full of thanks and kind words! It was such a neat experienced!
They had a blast!!
Raya helped a little too, but then she started chewing on bags, trying to get the cookie! haha!
These three people asked to get a picture with Ryken! He was shy, but we eventually got a smile! :)
These three are the ones on top of the ladders helping direct the band!
Thursday, we had a Mommy and Me outing with my mom's group!
We went to the pumpkin patch at Dakota Carriage Company!
This weekend, these was a HUGE rummage sale and we went and checked it out!
There were two big gymnasiums full of stuff!
First one was full of clothes, shoes and toys!
And the next one was everything else for the house!
I honestly was a little disappointed with it - but I did come away with an outfit. Just have to wait to wear it till I am not pregnant! haha!
You know you have a son when you find rocks in the wash! He had put some rocks in his pockets while at the pumpkin patch! :)
Saturday, there was a work party at the church in Valley City!
It was such a great turn out! So encouraging!
With so many people came many different helpful talents.
We had electricians, we had window washer, we had HVAC...and lots of other hands ready to help!!
Electricians putting new lights in the kitchen!
Sorraya and I were up in the apartment (where the intern lived) cleaning. I kept spinning her on this chair to keep her happy and occupied as we had closed to door!
Another distraction, was letting her carry this little Bible (partial) around!! It was just her size!
Ryken vacuuming around, visiting with people as he came in contact with them!
Cleaning walls!
New light fixtures were put in outside and the windows were recaulked.
Windows inside and out were cleaned!!
A lunch was served and fellowship was enjoyed!
It was a great turnout and much was accomplished, thanks to all those who came to serve and give of their time and talents!
October 24 marks 2 years in our house!
We are still so very grateful and thankful for God's gracious provisions!!
For Mom's 60th Birthday, Kristin and I put together a book of 60+ memories with the help of many friends and family! It turned out great and was such a fun project to work on!
The Evans were able to go down to Mesa and deliver it, but we couldn't! So we FaceTimed while she opened it!!
Reactions while browsing the book a bit!
So many of the memories given were so right and true in describing who Mom is in Christ. For that is who she is first and foremost...a Daughter of the King! The Lord has been gracious to her and has grown her in much grace over the many years of walking with Him. She is rised up and called blessed. We love you and thank God for who you are!!
Celebrating the ordinary moments that make life extraordinary!!

WOW! 360 cookies! That is a huge task to undertake but I am sure it blessed many and it looks like Ryken loved doing it too! The relationship you have with the band is really cool. Something that your kiddos and the band members will remember for a long time. And so much fun working on that book with you. I have said it before but I really enjoyed the process and the finished product to bless our wonderful mom!
ReplyDeleteThat is soooo fun! What a nice treat for the band! Great memories for all! :)
