Day 2 Day Joys: Oct 25-31

Week of October 25

Sunday Best!
We came home from church and found this bag full of books for the kids!
There was no note, no text on my phone, no idea of who would have left it! But the books were a hit. There was a Cars book, Ispy book, and Goodnight moon along other good ones! So a BIG thank you to whoever gave the kids the books. It blessed them, which blesses us!
There is a lady at Walmart, Miss Sharon, that we have become friends with. She learned that we go to the Airport and watch the planes and she thought that was neat...so she always asks about it. She also has feet issues and have had many surgery and is alway sitting when she checks out! We have prayed for her a number of times and Ryken tells her when we see her. She seems a little stand offish about that aspect...but may the Lord use us in her life! We always look for her and say Hi whenever we go...which is usually more than once a week! :)
Reading books on the stairs together!
Sorraya tried Do-A-Dot markers for the first time this week.
She got them on the paper, but also plenty on herself. Love the spot on her chest along with the one all across her cheek and into her ear! haha!
Funny sorry with our silly, pretty girl!!
The shirt she has on is a bit big, so it is baggy in the front.
At one point I noticed she had something in her shirt.
She is looking in and checking it out!
What could it be?
Oh course...her harmonica!
She played a little tune and back in the shirt it goes!
Thrilled...and off she ran around again. She also put in some little books in her pocket!
They sure do love playing together...and have been getting along so much nicer!!
We had our 20 week ultrasound this week!!! What a blessing that was!
Baby looked fantastic!
Baby was a little stinker though. If it didn't have its hands in front of its face, it was turning away from the screen. At one point, the technician was pushing on my belly and jiggling it trying to get baby to move so we could see more, and we see its little hands jabbing at the wand. It was pretty funny. I ended up turning onto my side, and baby still didn't move. We saw that baby had its arm extended all the way up back behind its head. Just relaxing while we looked around! We got very few face shots, but baby is healthy and that was of most importance. So not only were we able to keep the gender a surprise, we were also able to keep the face a surprise for the most part.
So with all that being said, we look forward to March all the more!!
It is alway a blessing seeing baby in the womb. Love the little glimpses we get and the pictures are truly treasures! :)
20 week picture. Baby is the size of a banana!
Friday, we met some friends at the mall play place. We had never been there before, so it was fun and new!
Both kids seemed to really enjoy it! Running around and bring off energy is the greatest! And a bonus...with Friends!
Raya helping Tenley up the slide!
Ryken loved being on this bridge and howling! haha!
New entertainment center and color scheme for our living room! We are loving it!
October 30 was free pancakes for kids at IHOP!
My good friends in AZ went with their kids in the morning and I saw pictures, so I asked around and it was the case here as well. So off we went after naps for a snack! haha!
While we were waiting for our pancakes, we found that someone left 3 little origami swans.
He wanted two straws!!
Straws were the entertainment!
She was cracking me up as well as herself!
Putting the faces on their pancakes!
SO pleased for a special treat!!
We had a wonderful time on Friday with our guests!
The kids were loving the books that were being read to them!
Ryken showed everyone his favorite video of industrial cranes!
They are these massive cranes that keep picking up another crane to show their strength.
Sorraya was trying on shoes and she had some help walking in them!
When we have guests over for Supper, they usually leave when we start putting the kids to bed, even though they are always invited to sing with us like we do each night with the kids!
Tonight, our guests stayed and sang with us and it was so joyous! What a sweet time! Our hearts were full!
Sorraya has learned to take her pants off and practices before bath each time and is ever so proud of herself!

Celebrating the ordinary moments that make life extraordinary!!

  1. Such a cool story about the Walmart lady! And I also love that your guests stayed to sing along for bedtime. Very cool. Memories for the kids too. And I love the silly girl that Sorraya is... putting harmonica's and books in her shirt and those straw pics! Haha!
