Day 2 Day Joys: Jun 14-20

Week of June 14

Sunday Best with Grandma
We went to the Evening service in Valley City this week because it was Michael Beatty, the intern's, first week preaching! He did a great job and we are all excited to see how the Lord will use him there and hopefully grow the church there in the Valley!
There was a time of popcorn social afterwards which was nice!
We always seem to stay late...but time flies because we enjoy the great fellowship!
Ryken has been putting his yard stick to good use! Dad helped him make this bridge, which he loves!!
I can see a field of these weeds with yellow flowers from the front of our house and I have been wanting to do a photo shoot with the kids in them!
Grandma came with us!
It didn't go as well as hoped...but we still got some good ones indeed!
Before taking Grandma to the airport, we stopped one more place...the abandoned apple orchard!
We walked around the loop and swung on the swing!
Ryken was not as terrified as last time and actually enjoyed it! So that was fun!
Love that smile!!
"A TUNNEL!"
Ryken thought the tree's over lapping looked like a tunnel! :)
Looking at the little apples starting to grow!
Lots of hugs and tears saying goodbye to Grandma!
It's always hard when we don't know when we will see each other again!
But we are so thankful for the time we had and the memories made and look forward to time again!
Sorraya loves climbing up in Ryken's bed!
They were pretending to sleep here! haha!
"Chalking" while we wait for daddy to come home!
A young lady who was walking her dog asked if our dad was in the military or on vacation...I said nope, just coming home from work...it's a big deal around here! :)
Tuesday we had an event for our Summer Reading Program.
It was meeting and seeing what a Fire and Rescue Dog does!
This is Bud and his dog Laura!
She was four years old!
Showing the kids her long ears!
Once we learned a lot of facts and questions were asked, we all got to go outside and see her do a search.
There was a boy picked in the audience who had a baseball hat on and they took the hat off him and then he and his mom and family went and hid across the lot.
It took Laura about 30 seconds to find it!
Nice job Laura!
All kids got to pet and love on Laura!
Sleepy girl feel asleep!
She had done this a number of times, and it completely surprises us every time!
We like to play catch and toss the ball around down in Ryken's room!
We got this yellow ball that bounces really well and is so light...so we throw it around, at each other and at the walls! Make a game out of it!
Raya was enjoying it this time...Ryken was busying making his yard stick into a train track! :)
We got to go out to the Anderson's farm this week!
It is such a pretty farm!!
They have gotten many more animals since last time we were there...but the 3 ponies were the biggest and newest attraction!
Sorraya was brave and intrigued by all the animals!
They had a well thought out and put together garden and we were even given from fresh lettuce to take home!
I got to hold some bird (can't remember what it was called).
The oldest boy told me I should hold this bird and he would take a picture and then I should send it to my mom and dad! haha!
Lukas was really sweet swinging with Sorraya!
Lukas also got out their laptop and was taking silly photos with the different filters in photo shop with Ryken!! They had a good time laughing about it all!!
Lukas has this cool loft in this room!!
I had to talk Ryken into going up it...and once he did, he loved it and was glad he did!
We got stopped by a train on the way home, which was fun and exciting!!
Always is!
Thursday was 1/2 price shakes all day at Sonic....
so after supper, we picked up some shakes and then went to Cruise Night in West Fargo!
Friday was my Birthday, and it was such a fun day!!
Our good friends, the Johnson's, came from Valley City and we went to the Kidwest all afternoon!
Then as a family we went to a RedHawks baseball game!
The day couldn't have been better!
Love pictures of them sleeping!!
Playing with Daddy, Saturday morning!
Clean baby!!

Celebrating the ordinary moments that make life extraordinary!

  2. I think the yellow flower pictures turned out GREAT! And poor little Ryken's face when Grandma had to leave. Goodbyes are no fun! I agree with Allison - that is so cool you can go to such a beautiful farm. And the owners seem like such nice people! So glad you enjoyed your birthday!!
