When Grandma was here, we drove to Wahpeton to enjoy the zoo for a day!
Wahpeton is about an hour away from Fargo!
Watching the Tigers!
There were all of these little baby goats! They were just the cutest things!!
Grandma showing the kids how to pet the donkey!
Watching the big and little goats!
Sorraya checking out a turtle!
She didn't really care to touch it!
With the turtles, there were all these plastic tubes that were around for the kids to play with.
You could walk inside them or you could roll them from the outside, or make them move from the inside! It was fun to watch the other kids making them move!
Throughout the day, they tell you when they have scheduled training sessions with certain animals!
We tried to get to see them...this was the third one that we missed! But we later realized that the training session was seriously 1-2 minutes. It was the shortest training session...so if you were there ahead of time you would have missed it!
But there was a class from a day care that came and they brought the spider monkeys little treats!
It was a empty paper towel roll that had strawberries, peppers, carrots or tomatoes in the middle and then newspaper stuffed on each end.
The treats were given to the monkeys and they knew just what to do. They pulled the paper out and found the treat inside!
It was neat to see!
Fun to see the kangaroo's so active and close up!
Ryken watching the Grizzly bear!
We made it to the Lemur's training session!
This one lasted maybe 4 minutes!
The zoo keepers had dried cranberries as treats for doing well in the training session.
There was one lemur that they just let do whatever he wanted! Apparently he was a little irritable and grumpy!
We brought our lunch and had a picnic!
Then we had a ride on the carousel!!
There was an elderly man who ran the carousel and was perfect for the job!
He had named all the horses and told the kids the name of the horse they were sitting on. He also waved to the kids as they went around!
Tried to get us all!!
We snagged some yummy ice cream cones from Macdonald's before we headed home!!!
Always room for ice cream for us!
It was a great day filled with fun and memories!

Ahh! Zoo days! So fun! Looks like you guys got to see lots of active animals having fun and doing what they do best! I love the carousel man description. Sounds like the perfect guy all right! Those kind of people that enjoy their job sure make things more enjoyable for everyone else too!
