Week of June 7

Sunday Best!

Grandma comes today!!! She gets to stay for a week! We were all so very excited!!

We took Grandma downtown to one of our favorite places, Sweeto Burrito, for lunch!!

After supper, we went to a free community event called Trout Fest!

They stock the little pond with fish and there is a contest for who catches the most in a certain amount of time!

This boy was kind enough to show Ryken one of the fish that he caught!

We went and played at the park by the pond for a bit afterwards!

Sure is fun to have Grandma here!!

Our frame was finished, so we got to take Grandma to the cool frame shop and he played a song for us all again!

First splash pad visit of the year and Sorraya's first time!!!

It was a little chilly, but they had fun anyways!!

Wednesday, we drove to Wahpeton and spent the morning/afternoon at the zoo!

Post on that later!

We saw this kids table at Costco the other week and we thought it would be great for the kids!! It would be helpful when we have guests over with kids and then when it is not being used for a meal, it can be down in Ryken's room! The kids love it!

Thanks mom for helping us get it for my birthday!

Reading with Grandma!

Thursday, I scheduled an oil change for the van and left the kids with mom! I walked over to the hospital and went to the 6th floor and read for a while! I always loved the view when I would come for my OB appointments when pregnant! I also walked the library hoping to sign Ryken up for the summer reading program...but it was closed! 

We had Ellen over and she brought pictures of her trip to Germany! It was so fun to see her childhood house, school and other things!

Friday morning, we went and got a donut to enjoy.

We saw a lady in the bakery icing a bunch of cupcakes for a wedding! It was neat to watch!

Grandma loves donuts as much as we do!!! :)

Grandma also came to some garage sales with us!

Friday Picnic at the Airport! With Grandma!!

It's always fun to bring someone new for the first time!

This picture cracked me up!! Just waiting for some airplanes!

Daddy surprised us and came!

It was a crazy busy week, so it always means so much more when he comes during those busy weeks!!!

It's always a better picnic when daddy comes too!

So we gave Raya a try and she loved it!!

At one point she even held her own weight and started to climb! 

She is always up to trying new things!

Grandma was put rocking Raya while I was putting Ryken down for a nap! I came up and it was just too cute! Grandma was also thinking about leaving and how far away we live...as she had tears in her eyes! 

We were a little worried that Raya wouldn't take to Grandma while she was here, because she is very much a mamma's girl! But right away she did and moments like this were just special for mom and Sorraya!

Someone got ahold of the tape!

It was a warm afternoon, so we got out a bucket of water and toys!

Friday night, Mom offered to watch the kids, so Chris and I could go out on a date!

We had supper with mom and the kids and then left for a little bit before it was time to put the kids to bed!

We ran a few errands and then went to a brewery and tasted some beers!

It is ALWAYS nice to have some time just to the two of us! We will take it when we can!! We were very grateful!

Saturday was a baby shower for Rachel!

We played some games!

Made some headbands and bows for sweet baby Cana Esther! 

We also found out her name with one of the games!

Deb gave a great devotional, filled with wisdom, encouragement and grace!

There were lots of gifts showered upon this little family!

I had to snag a picture with the soon to be new mamma!

The shower was at Kayla's house. She was so kind to open her house for the shower and she put so much effort into the decorations, food, games and other little things that made the baby shower just perfect for Rachel! 

While mommy and Grandma were at the baby shower, Daddy had time with the kids!! Found these pictures on his phone!

 Daddy bought Ryken a yard stick...which he was VERY excited about!!

Saturday night, we went and ate pizza outside at Spicy Pie!

Ryken was dancing to the music!

The kids loved this little table and chairs!

Went to a park afterwards for a bit!

Sorraya has been working hard on going down the stairs on her belly!

She is really doing well...we even find ourselves keeping the gate open on purpose!

Ryken is so concerned that she will fall down! It really is sweet! Most the times she isn't even close to falling...but thankfully, he is a good help at watching her by the stairs!
