Day 2 Day Joys: May 17-23

Week of May 17

In their Sunday Best!
Sorraya found my shirt and was walking around with it and it looked like big elephant ears!!
A split second of looking at books at the library together!
Mommy and Daddy went on a date for our Anniversary Monday night and Mrs. Vandermulen came and watched the kids for us!
She brought this pop-up house and it was a HIT indeed!
We came home and they were still playing with it!!
Ryken loves donuts as much as his mommy...so he has been asking for them more often...and although we can't have them every morning, it is fun to say yes every now and then!!!
He picked a good one - a filled one!
And shared with his sister all on his own! He has really improved in thinking of others which has been so encouraging to see! Praise God for working in His heart!
Since it was the last free week at the YMCA playlist...we went back!
The kids loved playing with the bouncy balls and also jumping and rolling around on the gymnastic pads!
Love Ryken's way of finding new ways to play with his toys!
Here he was fixing his bike!
It was a sad day! Our favorite field to walk to and play ball, kick the soccer ball or fly a kite was getting dung up, since it had been bought and a business was coming!
But alas...we took a walk and a snack and watched them dig and work!!
Oh and there were more dandelions to pick!
There are a lot of those around right now!!!
Wednesday, we went to the zoo with some Exhale moms!
It was a fabulous time!
These are not weeds, these are flowers in a young boys eyes!!!
Water painting on the deck!!
Sorraya's first time!
She maybe put the brush to the paper once!
She would dip it in the water and it would go straight into her mouth!
Then we got clean water and just painted the deck! Ryken loved this!!
Sorraya just drank her water...while sitting on her tray!!!
And gave a  proud, cheesy, goonish smile afterwards!
This little gal is obsessed with belly buttons! She often is seen lifting up her shirt and finding her belly button and just smiling or giggling!
My crazy fish of a boy!!
Snuggling and learning about animals with daddy!
Playing in the sprinklers!!
I think she is going to like the splash pad when it gets warm enough to go!!!
Playing in the dirt before we planted some seeds!
Family walk!!
Goofy girl!
Friday Picnic at the Airport!!
Friday late afternoon, we were getting ready for company that was coming over for supper and I had to run to the store real quick to get something I forgot and at the store there were $.50 root beer floats. It was about 45 minutes before dinner...but how often does this happen??? So she made him a little one and he thoroughly enjoyed it!
We have had some trouble with the kids sharing a room when we have guests in our house overnight, or when we are on vacation and in a hotel or the kids have to share a room...so Chris had the brilliant idea of having practice slumber parties on Friday nights, since we can sleep in a little bit on Saturday if we need to. We also plan for our kids to share a room in the near future...so this is good practice for this! So this week was our first time having them fall asleep together in the same room. It worked out great!! Both kids did wonderful! They talked and squawked just a little bit before they were fast sleep! Ryken was excited about it!
In the morning, we made a big deal about how well they did. Ryken has since then asked many nights if he can sleep in Raya's room! Many more to come, my boy, many more!
Saturday was just such a beautiful day out!
We went to the park for a bit and played on the playground as well as kicked around soccer balls!
This girl loves to swing like her mama! She just compleltly relaxes and just loves it!
Love this boy and his willingness to make silly faces with me!!
Did I mention it was just perfect weather?!?!
We have a new Cash Wise (grocery store) near us, which we have been so excited about!
It opened on Friday, so Saturday we stopped in and checked it out!!

Celebrating the ordinary moments that make life extraordinary!
