Tot School: Red

It was good to be back doing Tot School! I think we both missed it! :)

Our Red Discovery Box.

 Checking out all the red items… and he put on Dad's red hat that he loves to wear around the house.

 In the book there was a cardinal, so I found a video on youtube that showed pictures and have audio of a cardinal singing. He liked it. 

Ryken used his red crayon and red dot marker to color a red page. 

He has improved so much over 2 months. 

 Red is for Apples

 Found this tot apple pack that was printable and we did a few of the activities. 

 We played with apples and ate them of course. 

 Red is for the Big Red Tub

 Ryken enjoyed putting small red items into the empty container....and then dumping them out. 

 He put red cookie cutters in his red play dough.

He liked using the rolling pin the best. 

 He asked for Mar to come and sit next to him, and then he started tearing off little pieces and giving them to him.

 Lots of finger licking… and he had a blast.

 You guessed it, straight into the bath we went. :)

There was some red food coloring in the water too, but I didn't want to add too much and have it stain the tub or him! haha!

 Mar was included again!

 In the book, the little boy was welcoming home his daddy from the Navy with a red balloon that said Welcome Home. So we welcomed home daddy at lunch with a red Welcome Home balloon.

 Did pretty good, kept wanting more paint. Once I said no more paint, he was all done. 

 A few more red balloons were blown up and he enjoyed playing with them and hitting them with his stick. 

 Red is Truck, Car and Bus

I found the idea here. 

It folds up like an accordion, which is handy.

He likes it and has brought it out more than once. 

 He was driving his red cars threw his red play dough. 

I was reminded again that we need some different play dough…and a larger amount too! 

 It didn't work very well…but he played for a while. 

 Red is Spaghetti

This was a challenge for him, but he kept trying.

Stringing red beads onto spaghetti noodles stuck in red play dough.

 Such concentration.

He figured out that it was helpful to hold the noodle with one hand to steady it for him while he put the bead on with the other hand.

We made Spaghetti for dinner! YUM!

 I found this One Pot Spaghetti recipe and had to try it!

It cooks in one pot! (Score) 

It was so delicious! We will make it for now on!

It calls for a jar of sauce and on the website it suggested Classico's Sweet Basil. 

I tried it and it was a good pick on her part. 

 Ryken was a fan!

Then to end Red week…

Chris had ordered this little Arsenal (his favorite English Premier Soccer League team) jersey for Ryken to wear. And it came! 

It fits perfect and gosh doesn't he look adorable in it?!?! :)
