Art Show: Leila Rastegar

Last Thursday we went to an Art show.
Chris has seen this artists work on the College campus when he went to NDSU. He would go by just to  see this train yard painting that was hanging in the student union.
Last year, we were looking at the art that is hung in our mall's food court and Chris spotted a painting that looked very much like the artist that he likes.
Sure enough, it was her: Leila Rastegar
She is from Iran and currently lives in the Fargo/Moorhead area.

Chris had contacted her mid July and told her how much he enjoyed her art and how he would make a special trip to the student union to just see her painting. She was flattered and told us she had an art show in downtown, Fargo.
So we went!
We met her and she told Chris that his e-mail couldn't have come at a better time. She was discouraged with her art and that refreshed her and she started painting again. Isn't God good!
She also took our picture and later sent it to Chris.
We would like to get some prints of her art for our house. So Chris asked her about that and she made it sound like it was very possible.

These are the paintings that she had at the art show. The one that Chris saw at the student union is not any of these. A lot of these were her new work.

This one is similar to the other train yard one that Chris likes, but with snow. The other one does not have snow. This is a shot from the Fargo area.
This is a painting from a place called Sabin, MN. Not to far from us. We have pasted this very factory.
This one we really like.
It is from Alaska.
We love the color she uses to make things pops.
This is our favorite of the new ones. Just beautifully done!
The lighting in the art gallery was perfect for making the pictures just look their best.
My camera only did so good...but this one turned out pretty good.
And the old brick wall behind it just adds so much to it!

We were happy we were able to go and see more of her art and meet Leila.
She was very much appreciative of our great interest of her art.
