We left Fargo early afternoon on our way to Mandan for the Christmas weekend!
A beautiful sunset greeted us!
Well we had an eventful start to the time away. Last night, Raya cried when she went pee before bed. She actually never went. So we put her in a pull up and in the morning it was dry, but she went in the potty pain free. We thought all was well. Well once it was time to leave home, she still hadn't gone anymore that day and still wouldn't go before we left. So we stopped in Jamestown and had her try, but she didn't go. Then we were about 20 miles from Bismarck and Raya just kept crying in pain. We stopped at another gas station and this time I tried to help Raya go. She was just crying the whole time. These waves of pain kept coming that reminded me of contractions. At a couple times it looked like she was going to pass out. It was hard to watch, but she was stubborn and would not let herself pee. So we called Chris' parents and asked where a walk-in clinic was that we could take her too.
Chris went back with Raya while I stayed in the waiting room with the boys. The doctor felt Raya's stomach and she said it was super full -which we knew. We had picked up cranberry juice before we left Fargo for her to drink, as we have heard that it can help wth UTI's if this was the case with Raya. She had downed over 12oz of that and still hadn't gone since 8am. So the doctor said you get her to go, so I am going to send her to the ER and get her a catheter. Not good. So Chris gently talked to Raya about how he had to go for Daddy. She finally ended up going and see went over 400mLs - which is a ton for such a little body. They tested her for UTI and it came back negative. So we just think that we was maybe dehydrated and it hurt that one time to go and so she was hanging on to that and not letting herself go. And then because she held it for so long, the pain soon became because she had to go so bad. We struggled with some other bathroom issues while we were away from home...but she was pain free and that is all that was important. Phew!
Got to in laws a little after 7 and had a yummy dinner waiting for us!
Drayden got lots of smooches and enjoyed the Christmas tree!!
Next morning, the kids could hardly wait to get outside to play in all the snow! They had already gotten 28 inches this winter so far.
Nana had gotten them all a new show shovel too they were excited to try out!

Matthew has been taking violin lessons and he and two other boys played two songs together! They did a very nice joy!

With Chris' side of the family, we always celebrate Christmas Eve!
Since we had a Christmas Eve service and Chris' oldest sister's family had a service an hour later than ours- we didn't even have supper till after 7pm. So it was a late night for the little's!
Drayden's first Christmas! He liked climbing on the boxes and eating paper!

So we all contributed to gifts in terms of a few categories. So we played the game and when we got a Bingo, we went and picked out a small gift from the category we belonged in. It was fun! The kids seemed to really enjoy it as well!

She loved all the sweets around and her silly eating habits were making everyone laugh!
Church was cancelled due to the big snow storm coming!

Their house is on a hill, so the sidewalks worked a great place for a little sledding fun. Chris ran down it with Matthew a few times and then he asked if I wanted a turn! YES!! So fun!
It started to really come down and was so pretty!

Monday morning we were in for a big surprise!!
LOTS more snow!!
Chris and his dad were out for over 3 hours shoveling and snow blowing!
So much was on the roof...Chris helped knock it down!!
While the men were busy outside, the kids started a fun little tree craft!
Picked different ribbons, felt and other materials and made a tree out of them.
After naps they added some ornaments on them!
They had fun and they really turned out nice!

We couldn't leave when we originally planned to on Monday due to the snow storm and the interstate being closed...so we had some extra time and were thankful for it.
We left around 10am Tuesday morning for our way home.
Stopped in Jamestown for some lunch!
And finished the drive. It sure was pretty with all the frozen trees around glistening in the sun!
The roads were not very good, but the Lord was gracious to bring us home safely!
We sure enjoyed our time with family and lots of memories were made!!
