We saw the fun that my sister did with her Carrot Seed unit, that we took some of that fun and mixed it with some other themes and made it into a garden unit!
Of course we had to plant some things!!
So we planted carrots, grass and sunflowers!

Ryken worked hard on matching lower and upper case letters with these carrot and wheelbarrow printable!
We "planted" a lima bean and watched it grow!
We hung it up in the window to get some sunlight! Ours never grew...in fact pretty sure it was started to get moldy...so we threw it away!

These never got a big as the picture showed...but they did grow, so that was something!
We made carrot chips!!
But none of us liked them!! haha!!

We got some planters and flowers for our front and back porch!

We went to our friends house that had a great garden!
We were even given some fresh lettuce from the garden!
We talked about the parts of a flower and then he matched them up!
Ryken counted out the number of leaves that matched the number on top of the sunflower!
We made this cool sunflower artwork with pepper, paint and a toilet paper roll!
This craft is one of the first that he did 95% by himself! He did great! He drew the stem ad the leaf too!
It sure looks nice hanging on his Art wall downstairs!
Ryken got a taste of Vincent Van Gogh with this Van Gogh inspired art.
Lots of different types of painting and texture her!
He actually really didn't mind getting dirty this time around! It was really fun to see him enjoy it so much!

I kept putting off this post because I have been waiting for the sunflowers to open one of the flowers...as 1 has been really close for a while now (in my mind). But alas...I wanted to wait, but couldn't! It will be documented in another post I am sure!
But regardless, these bad boys are growing tall and we should see some bright sunflower yellow soon!!

But at the library recently, Ryken asked for another Totes for Tots...so probably one of those! :)
Ahh!! I love all of it! Looks like so much fun! And Ryken is getting so grown up and able to do things by himself! Very impressive :) Love the sunflower art project with the toilet paper roll and pepper. It looks amazing for him doing so much of it by himself! Great unit!
