Day 2 Day Joys: Jul 5- Jul 11

Week of July 5

Sunday Best!
Just hard to give your best smile when you were woken up, dressed and ready to get in the car!
Checked out a new park today! It is in a new development and it really one of the largest parks around!
A lot of the new parks have 2 separate playgrounds...one for the bigger kids and one for the smaller ones!
It's very much appreciated by this mom...and I am sure by many others!
We have really been getting into smoothies lately!
Trying all sorta of different recipes and some we like and others we won't try again!
But because we have been making lots, we finally bought a blender! And that has made them so much better! (actually smooth! :)
He loves to help put things in and then push the buttons to make it go!
Tuesday Play Date!
There is goes again...being brave and trying something new!
We went on a walk where Ryken rode his bike the whole time!
He did really well especially since he doesn't use the peddles yet (legs to short), but he kept up and had a blast! It was fun to just slow down too!
First time using her spoon and she did great!
She knew just want to do and loved the independence of it all!
We found a little camping chair at a thrift store for under $3.
We had to get it and both the kids just love it!
Fun with Dad during bath!
My friend Rebecca told me that she would make smoothies for her little boy and then they would go on a walk and eat their smoothies in the morning! I LOVED the idea!
So that is why we got into a smoothie kick...but today was the first time we actually went on a walk with them! It was fun and will be done again and again!
Read and Craft at the Library!
Notice one of eyes on Raya's troll is missing! Yep, she was eating them, glue and all!!
Coloring the trolls' body!
Raya was biting off every tip from each crayon too!
She sure does like books...and a new orange couch to sit on!
One of Ryken's prize for completing some of his reading program was this 6 piece puzzle!
He loved it and did it over and over!
It's fun to see him focus on something and keep trying instead of giving up right away!
Ryken spotted these mini banana's at Walmart and loved them! He kept touching them, talking about getting some, telling other people shopping about them!
It was a fun discovery!
One afternoon we went and watched the tractors that were filling up dump trucks and dumping them!
This dump truck was a side dump truck which was extra cool! Something new!
More big dump trucks in the background!
Thursday was half price waffle cones at Sonic!
So we went and all enjoyed them!
Have I mentioned how much we are enjoying our sonic in Fargo?!? :)
Friday, we brought lunch to new mama Rachel and met baby Cana!
She was so little, sweet and preciously beautiful!
Ryken was so gentle with her and loved kissing her little head!
After naps...we tried out the pool for the first time!
I had been putting it off because I was scared to take two kids by myself!
But God blessed the time and my fears quickly went away and we had a great time and will be back! I had asked some moms about what pool would be best for my little ones and one suggested Madison pool! I'm glad we tried here first!
I had bought two different kinds of flotation devises because I didn't know what was best for my kids. And we ended up not using either of them! It was like a big bath tub except you could jump in it and stand!
Ryken loved jumping off the side and into the water!
Sorraya loved to sit on the side and splash her feet!
She also climbed in and out about 100 times!
It was a great first experience and we will be back and try the other pools around as well!
Our deck is finished!! YAY!! It looks brand new and we are thankful it is done!
Chris smoked ribs for the first time Saturday. They were yummy and we enjoyed them!!

Celebrating the ordinary moments that make life extraordinary!

  1. I LOVE pools that have a shallow area for the kids. Ember loves it too. It allows you as the mom to be more at ease and the kiddos too in my opinion. And smoked ribs sounds so good right now! Yum Yum! Oh! And I was going to comment about how your kids always look so cute and smiley for Sunday best pictures but this weeks was a little reality check. Haha! Sorraya is still cute with a grumpy face ;)
