Week of June 28
This was our Sunday best this week as the kids and I stayed home from church due to snotty noses!
We got some fresh air during a nice walk in the morning!
It was a warm one! The water felt good!
I poured water down his shorts, so then he tried to do it to himself! haha!

Ryken has asked and asked for a door to his car, so daddy cut one and it was complete joy!!!

There has been big fires in Canada that have been making the air very smoking and hazy!
But because of the smoke, you could look at the sun!
Watching the men behind us build a deck!
What's more fun than eating with measuring spoons?!?!
Play date at the park!
Rays is always pointing out the babies and giving them some attention!
Each Tuesday, the moms who come to the park seem to always bring a lunch...so it nice to have a picnic at the park!
Ryken wanted to sit for a picture! :)
So I mustered up the courage to ask the men building the deck behind us to fix the end of the handrails on our deck...since the people who built ours never really finished it and they are long and uneven!
He said yes and then told me how he could help fix our deck to secure it a little bit more!
We got his card and I later relayed the info to Chris!
There it is! He did a great job and its nice to have it looking complete finally!(a year and a half later)
Then it worked out really nicely, because we have been wanting to enclose our deck down below and so Chris got a hold of the man and asked him if he could help with that. Which was a blessing because we were going to do it ourselves, but with this man, it actually was quite a bit more cost effective!! He will start on the deck in a few weeks! Thanks mom for the encouragement to be brave!
On a walk we discovered this beautiful park right by a little man made pond!
Ryken has become so brave lately! Usually, he doesn't try to many new things that are "scary", but both of these things he tried all on his own and without asking for help and then mastered it right away!! It was fun to see him grow that way!
There was a little boy there with a strider bike that let Ryken try it out!
We hear that garbage man and always want to watch it!! He waved to us today, which was extra special!
First trip to the Farmers market this year!
It's in a new location which is closer, but I sure do miss the walk along the Red River to get there that we usually did when it was in the old location!
Filling up on green beans!
There was a stand with fresh, homemade (I think) donuts...so we got one and sat by the road and watched the cars go by...which wasn't very long because the donut was so good! Should have gotten 2 to share instead of 1! :)
At Sam's this week, this lady who was in charge of a sample was playing peek a boo with the kids from her station and then came over to talk to them! She was completely smitten with them! They were fond of her too!
Raya gets eaten by mosquito's and swells up like her mommy does! :(
She had her head and neck just covered in them!
Thankfully she didn't seem bothered by them itching that we could tell...but clearly some since she would scratch them and make them bleed!
Early 4th of July morning, our good friends the Gingerich's had their first little girl...or firecracker as they call her!
Cana Esther was born at home (planned) and daddy delivered her (unplanned). The midwife didn't get there in time! So a fun story to share and both mommy and baby are healthy!
Chris had Friday off and we did yard/house work most the days Friday and Saturday, but we also had a cookout at church on Saturday! It was a nice time!
Celebrating the ordinary moments that make life extraordinary!
Oh poor Raya! I feel her mosquito bite pain. Ember gets them too....but not nearly as bad as it looks like Raya did. She is in for a lifetime of bug spray. Cute family picture at the end of the post! And sorry the kiddos had the snuffles again - always makes things a little less easy and a little more messy.
