Week of July 12
Sunday Best!
Sunday Best!
My friend, Mary, had gone to Washington to visit family and I asked her if she could pick up some sand for me. She did and even was so kind to send it to me!
It was added to the rest of the collection!
There now are 24 jars of sand from all over the world!
At the park with my mom's group this week and we actually saw 3 different people from our church while we were there. All unplanned! It was kinda funny!
Puppies are always a hit!
Some neighbors down the street were having a lemonade stand and I have been wanting to meet their mom and God was gracious! We paid for the lemonade and then the mom came out and we talked for 10 minutes or so! They have 6 kids, homeschool, and are involved in their church! It was encouraging and refreshing!
We love orange juice popsicles!
We took the baby gates down this week!!
Well the one at the bottom of the stairs is gone, but the one attached to the wall is just left open now!
It has been so nice, cause the kids will just go up and play together in Raya's room and it's a joy to hear them giggle, laugh and play together!
There was some rain this week....and we were graced with this beautiful double (hard to see) rainbow!!
Ryken had gotten a little puzzle from the library last week and was loving it! So we went to the dollar store to see if we could find some other ones with not too many pieces!
We found these ones with 12 pieces. There was a Daniels in the Lions Den and then a David and Goliath one! He has been doing great with them! They are more challenging, but he has never focused and tried so hard on something! So it has been encouraging to see him grow in that area!
I tried to teach him some of the tricks to putting puzzles together!! We will see if they will ever stick!
On Wednesday, our friends, the Anderson's, invited us to Buffalo River to swim and play!
It was our first time and it ended up being very short due to the rain that was upon us! But we got our feet wet (literally) and enjoyed it enough to know that we will be back many times!!
He loved running and jumping in the water!
A pretty view of some of the storm clouds!
As we left, it started down pouring and I actually ended up pulling off to the side of the road, because it was so intense! But it was shorted lived and then we were back on the road!
While Ryken was napping, Sorraya helped me make the pizza for supper that night!
She put the peppers and onions on!!
She helped spread the BBQ sauce!
She took a bite of each piece of cheese and then got a new one!
It was so silly and she was so pleased with herself!
Then Ryken asked how he could help...so he got to wash the strawberries!
And did a great job...he picked up each one!! :)
Reasons by child is crying:
I wouldn't let her eat out of the trash can!
We went to the farmers marker again this week, and they had these cool bags to use and reuse!!
I was so excited! I am a sucker for free things!
Lunch at Sam's!!
Hot dogs, pizza and great company!!!
I had wanted to make a corn hole game...but figured it wouldn't turn out very well. But at a thrift store this week, I saw these in great condition with bean bags for a good deal in my mind! Now I can just paint or seal them if I want to! Pretty excited! And we have a lawn!! yay!
The kids had a blast with them too!!
We saw another house move this week! We were trying to get somewhere and could't due to the big house in the middle of the street! So once we were done with our errands, we drove by the house, once it was in its stop in the field for now!
It was a warm picnic at the airport today!!
And we hoped to see some new and exciting commotion because the airshow is in Fargo next week and they usually come a little early and are practicing around!
There was a bunch of people on the tarmac right in front of us...but nothing special happened!
Sorraya likes to point at the airplanes when she see's them!
Ryken asked to bring his bubbles this time!!
It was a beautiful day!!
Splash Pad day!
Well we were planning on washing the van after naps...but then our water pressure was so horrible that it would have been a complete chore....so we went to the splash pad instead!
They both had a blast!! It was so fun to see them enjoying themselves so much together!!!!
Since it was Chris birthday on Thursday...we celebrated on Friday at the Annual Street Fair!
It has been a tradition that Chris had done before we were married and then we kept it going!
Saturday, Chris got to get out and play some tennis with one of his friends!
While they played, the kids and I played at the park nearby!
But first, we watched a little bit and then used the big squeegee to get all the big water puddles away! Ryken had a blast working the squeegee and Raya loves playing in the water!
After the men were done, Ryken got to try it out a little bit! :)
Celebrating the ordinary moments that make life extraordinary!

That is great that the dollar store had some puzzles based on Bible stories too! Neat! Ember has been getting into puzzles more too. There was one at the house in Phoenix we stayed at that she did over and over and was getting it some. I had just done some with her here and told Dustin it is quite frustrating trying to teach a two year old how to do a jigsaw puzzle but I think it is starting to click! And Buffalo State Park looks so cool! You will have to go back again sometime.
