Wednesday, April 3, Chris and I left for St. Paul to see Sigur Ros in concert.

Ryken stayed with Rebecca and Linda while we were gone. And did great! We were so very thankful.

It was strange leaving Ryken...but we enjoyed our time together.

 Not to far from St. Paul.

It was such a nice drive...and even better company!

We searched for a Pei Wei and found one not to far away.

But our navigation sent us to this old neighborhood. - My fault.

I have some learning to do with being the navigator.

We found the actual Pei Wei and enjoyed our favorite meals off the menu. 

Yum!

(there was a little boy about Ryken's age eating with his family and it made me think of our sweet little boy)

We parked and found a nice place to get picture of us. A river is behind us...although you can't see it! :)

It had river boats on it. 

A couple from our church is getting married this June in St. Paul, by the river and I remember boats in the name...so we think it is the same place!

We walked around downtown...thinking we were heading toward the Roy Wilkins Auditorium on Kellogg Blvd. where the concert was, but turns out we had navigation problems again.

Ended up being that our parking garage was just across the street from Roy Wilkins! 

Haha!

We had a good laugh about it!

Got our tickets and ready to go!!!

The opening act came on right at 7:30pm and that's all that needs to be said about that!

Not to impressive!

Then Sigur Ros came out. 

There was this net all the way around the stage and there was fog inside and they did neat things with the lights off the net.

Here is the lead singer, Jonsi.

He plays a guitar with a chelo bow.

The rest of the band is around him as well.

There was an 11 piece orchestra that came with them this time.

When Chris saw them the last time, his first time, they did not have the extra people and instruments.

The net around the stage fell down to the ground right at the perfect time in a song.

Chris said it and I agree 100% now after seeing them live,

"They are meant to play live"

Chris could tell me the name of each song (in icelandic) and what it means in English!

You could tell he enjoyed it so much!

At 9pm, I asked Linda how it was going for her and Ryken.

She said: "He's doing great. In bed sleeping. Enjoy your evening! Don't you worry about a thing."

Those words helped us both enjoy the night even more!! 

They had these light bulbs on the stage that added a nice effect.

They played the song that we have in our wedding video. That was fun...for sentimental reasons! :)

Many happy people were pleased with being there and the performance.

We had an interesting couple in front of us, that we had to try hard not to be too distracted by.

But they certainly didn't ruin anything.

I was as good as Chris expected.

It was better than I expected! 

It was very much worth the time and effort put into making it to go see.

We left the concert, tried to get Sonic on our way home, but we missed it by 4 minutes. They were closed.

So we went with Taco Bell instead! Then they forgot my nachos! Oh well.

We had a nice drive home and no deer made their appearance! 

Chris had said as the music was on, that he keeps thinking Ryken is sleeping in the back seat and we should turn the music down.

And I thought several times of saying to Ryken how good of a job he was doing in the back seat, along for the ride! :)

What can we say??...he's our baby! 

We made pretty good timing. Got home right before 3:00am.

Thank you again to Linda and Rebecca for taking care of and distracting Ryken while we were gone. We are thankful for God's graciousness in having Ryken be good and a joy to watch. And for our safe travels.

We truly had a wonderful day trip.
