Our little family of 3 went to Mom and Dad Brucks' house for some of the long weekend for Memorial Day.
This was Ryken's first long car ride and well he takes about 3 to 3 1/2 hours to get there. Ryken was happy the first 40 minutes and the last 40 minutes....the rest of the trip he was like he is in the video. I sat there just for a short time to see if it would help or not. I will let you decide for yourself if it did! :)
We got to Bismark, just in time to get Ryken a bath and get to bed! :) He slept the longest he ever has at Gma and Gpa's house in his cousins pack and play. 7 hours and 40 minutes! :) It was wonderful! :) Guess all that crying from the car ride wore him out.
Playing on the table and loving the light that was above him and reflected on the ceiling!
Cute Matthew! :)
Funny story, so all along we thought Ryken was smiling and cooing at the mirror that we had at the top of his floor mat to look at. Recently, we took the mirror down and Ryken was still smiling like crazy and cooing...so we realized it was this orange knob the whole time!:) We got a good laugh out of it! :)
The rest of the family got to meet Ryken for the first time. Chris' oldest sister, Cinnamon and her husband Brian and their 3 boys; Ben, Solomon and Jon-Jon. The boys were sweet with him and seemed interested in him!
Ryken, the center piece for dinner. Mom says they have done this with some of the other grandkids! haha!
Helping dad play cards! :)
This is Deb. We met her in Lakeshore Mississippi when we helped rebuild Lakeshore. Her son lives in Minot and Chris helped him find a church. They were up visiting him and she wondered if they could stop by and see us, but mainly Ryken! :) It was a nice short little visit!
It was a good trip.
On the way back to Fargo, Ryken did much better. We found that he really likes the static radio stations....and so do Chris and I because of that! :) He did very good on the way back!
It gave us a feel for how the drive to Canada will be in July.... :)

Has his 7 hour streak continued?? I hope so!
ReplyDeleteSo far, that long stretch was a one time thing! :)
