Day 2 Day Joys: Apr 10-16

Week of April 10

Fell asleep playing on the play mat!
6:30am, April 11 we brought Drayden to the hospital for his surgery.
He had to stop eating at midnight and we didn't know how he would do being so hungry. We were able to give him a little pedialyte and that seemed to help. He did 10X better than we thought we would and we were so thankful!
He fell asleep while we were waiting for them to take him down for surgery!
So thankful, Chris and I had each other to go through all of this together! It has been quite the journey, but God was gracious through it all and His goodness overwhelmed us with pray answered after prayer answered. It no doubt strengthen out faith as well as our marriage!
Off he goes down to the operating room!
In the OR family waiting room there were these TV's that showed the surgeons name and then what stage of the process they were in. It was helpful to see. We also received an update every hour while Drayden was in OR.
Pastor Doug came and prayed and sat with us most the time, which was encouraging and our discussions were entertaining and helped the waiting go a little more quickly!
On our way to his room in PICU (Pediatrics Intensive Care Unit)
He was in much pain and was very uncomfortable. So hard to see when you could do nothing for him!
After one night in PICU, he was doing much better and no longer needed morphine and he was moved into General Pediatrics room 487.
I met the kids at the park and it was fun to see them enjoying outside! :)
Flying in the airplane with Grandma!
 "Here's your hamburger"
 Yeee--haw!
 Sweet boy!
These kids! They love climbing on each other!
Ryken came to drop off the recycle items and was a big helper! He was excited he got to come out and help, instead of just staying in the car like most times!
Grandma loved anytime she was able to come and see the little man!
He was healing up so well! This blue rubber band was to help the incision drain. When the time is right, they will just clip the stitches and it will be pulled out!
 Love my boy!
 Enjoying the iPad together!
One of the nurses asked to get something for Drayden to look at, since when he wasn't able to eat for the first 5 days after surgery, it was hard to keep him happy! So when this mobile came, she said, "I guess if you ask there right people...".
Ryken went to Fleet Farm with Daddy and came home with a new BobCat! :)
Looking out Drayden's window at the hospital!
So glad we could bring Raya while Drayden was in Peds. Our visits never lasted too long, but at least they could come and see him!

Celebrating the ordinary moments that make life extraordinary!!
