Maplewood Afternoon

On Thursday, Chris took half the day off and we spent it at Maplewood State Park.
We have gone two other times in the last 2 weeks, but they were both short trips we couldn't really do what we wanted too. Plus, this Saturday was supposed to be raining...so we went on a day that was dry and mid 70's! Just beautiful!

This is a barn on our way to the park. We love how the red just pops!
We pulled over to take a picture.
It kinda reminds us of a painting that our favorite artist does too!
Ryken sure enjoyed the crunchy leaves.
Last year he was just starting to crawl.

We got a picture in the same spot as we did last year.
These ones turned out cute again! :)
Running in the leaves.
Ryken in the pack and looking back at mommy wondering what she is doing!
We went on a long trail walk. It was just beautiful, with a lot of different scenery.
It started right off by a lake!
Water was shining!
We saw evidence of a beaver at work.
There were lots of places there the trails were just covered in leaves. A favorite!

Ryken gets excited when he see's the light blinking on the camera.
Makes for a cute pictures though!

Such a cute one of the two of them! :)
Love my boys!
This tree is right by the entrance of the park and is just a beauty.

I am mad at myself that I chopped our heads off in this one! It was a good one! Oh well, it's still a good one!
The red tamarack plants were just extra red and added a nice beauty.
Down by the lake!
He walked right in! :/... not afraid! Good to know!
Then dad drew a line of where Ryken could not cross...and that worked. He would get his toes right up to the edge.
Throwing sand!

The lighting was perfect, as the sun was setting and making the colors behind us shine!
But Ryken had enough pictures! :)

A lady from church recommended this Mexican restaurant to us. It is in a little town right before we reach Maplewood State Park.
It was family owned and very yummy!
Ryken likes Tamales!

A great ending to a wonderful day!
