Wednesday, July 3
My parents flew into Fargo and we left from the airport to drive to the cabin in MN.
We didn't get to the cabin till passed 12:00am, but we got to wake up to the Pine Lake in the morning.
Thursday, July 4
4th of July morning it was.
Blue skies and cool air.
This was our cabin for 4 nights.
It was 3 bed rooms. 2 queens beds and 1 twin.
It was perfect size.
Kitchen, dinning room and family room.
Chris asked me if I thought it was too late to try and change our cabinets in our new house to blue instead.
Too bad, it was too late!
The back patio looking over the lake!
Down the steep hill to the dock.
Had to check out the water first thing in the morning.
Watching boats go by!
Ryken would have jumped right in!
Watching the fish around the dock.
Had a little time of celebration!
I love this one!
There was the flag pole in that direction, so I always thing it looks like he is showing respect as the rest of us are singing the national anthem! Haha! Maybe a little over the top, but that is what i think when I see this picture!
There was a basketball that he was fan of!
It was semi-flat...but still had some bounce in it! :)
There was a nice corn hole game too.
Ryken loved putting the bean bags in the hole.
Grandma playing with Ryken!
Grandma blew some bubbles for Ryken.
He couldn't wait for more!
The 4th of July isn't the same without some grilling!
We had steaks!
Chris cooked them perfectly.
We had corn on the cob and hash brown casserole.
Delicious!
Happy 4th of July from all of us!
Friday, July 5
We got out and went into Little Falls, MN for a bit today.
We found this State Park...
It was seriously this park with swings and a slide and then a brief blip of history and then camp sites.
My dad was paying the parking pass and the man told him there isn't much to see and the mosquitoes were bad. He also said, I wouldn't have taken your money if there weren't people behind him.
It was kinda funny.
The man was right though; not much to see and the mosquitoes were bad.
Chris and Ryken swung a little bit.
Ryken went up high with Grandpa.
We looked at the history briefly and left!
We stopped by the falls in Little Falls.
They were pretty powerful!
A beautiful lake on the other end.
We had a yummy dinner at Little Fiesta.
Ryken successfully drank out a straw.
We all enjoyed our meal.
Grandpa reading Ryken his favorite book for bedtime.
Saturday, July 6
We searched for a strawberry farm to go pick at. The one close to us was out of strawberries first thing in the morning.
But we found one at Tutti Frutti!
Stopped to see the animals first.
Ryken was mot scared and would have had a few less fingers if Dad wasn't there to supervise.
On to the strawberry patch.
Ryken got the hang of it right away.
Helping Grandpa...or Grandpa helping.
There were some good ones, no doubt!
Picking away.
Filling buckets.
Ryken was filling his bucket too...his tummy!
Notice he has a white one in his hand.
He picked whatever he could find and ate it.
One bucket almost filled.
Look at that big one at the top of the picture!
Daddy finding Ryken a good one to eat! A red one!
Two fisting them into his mouth!
It has taken was 2 years to finally do this. I was pretty excited we found one!
Later that afternoon, while the baby was sleeping, Chris and I had a little paddle boat date!
It was nice to see a little more of the lake we were on.
Walking with Grandpa!
We had our famous (to us) Brucks style burgers!
Yum!!!!
Sunday, July 7
We got some family pictures together before we left the cabin.
We went to Wilmur, MN to worship at Grace Baptist Church.
It was small, but the Word was preached!
After church we had lunch at the Green Mill.
They have some of the best lasagna I have ever had!
Once we got back to the Fargo area, we took my parents by the lot to see what had happened while we were gone.
Nothing had happened, but they were happy to see it either way.
We met a neighbor lady, who we basically decided was the neighborhood gossip.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were pretty slow days.
Dad caught a cold that hit him pretty hard and I wasn't feeling great either.
But we did end up going to the Farmer's Market on Tuesday. First time this year.
Ryken showed Grandma and Grandpa how much he enjoys playing in the bucket of water!
He decided it wasn't so bad to stand in the water after mom was in there with him.
Gma & Gpa were happy to play with him.
Grandma got to give a bath.
:)
Wednesday evening they left.
It was a wonderful time at the cabin and visit again.
I was happy they got such a good amount of time with Ryken!
Went by fast.
Until next time...

Aww looks like you all had a great time! :)
ReplyDeleteFUN!! There is something so cool about a cabin on the lake and BBQ-ing. I still wish we could have come too. I am SUPER jealous that you all got to pick strawberries! That sounds like so much fun and brings back memories of the olden days picking corn and peaches! Thanks for posting! I was wanting to see/hear more about their visit. And it looks like you did ALOT and mom and dad loved EVERY minute of it!
