8 Months Old

Ryken is 8 months old now!
 WOWzers!

At 8 months, Ryken weighs 17 lbs and is 25.5 inches long. He loves to eat this baby food and try new flavors. Dad likes to feed him off this plate. Not much Ryken doesn't like. He's a good eater. He has tried puffs. He likes them. He picks them up, but is still learning how to put them in his mouth. Loves sitting in his Bumbo. Usually makes a "mmmmm" sound after each bite of food. Really hates getting his face washed off afterwards. He is on a new nap schedule that seems to be perfect for Ryken's needs. Takes 2 naps. Loves sleeping in the corner of the crib with his head up against a bumper. He sometimes plays in his crib before naps, and he will crawl all around and climb up and look around his room. He also likes to pull down the blanket that is hanging on the back of his crib. He enjoys books read to him before naps. Sits pretty good for them too. He wakes up at night some still. He is a busy little boy. He crawls likes crazy, climbs up and stands on everything he can. Follows you from one room to the next. Chases the vacuum. He learned how to sit back on his bum from the crawling position. He sits back on his knees with legs tucked under him. He loves crawling on our "L" shaped couch when he is being watched. Loves the door stops. Likes empty boxes and water bottles. He got a tooth brush that he carries around and enjoys. Loves baths in the big bath tub now. He loves to splash and play in the water. He went to Minneapolis with mom and dad! First time in a hotel. Loved the big bed and the elevator. He sat in a big boy high chair for the first time. Got his first snow suit. He does a victory scream when he climbs up on things. He will just go up and down, up and down all day long. Had his first Thanksgiving. Tired some pumpkin pie. Ryken likes socks more than he liked shoes. He finds them, he carrie them around with him. He likes his alphabet magnets on the fridge. He likes clapping, when others do it and say "yay" with it. Just beams from ear to ear.
