Avonlea: 7 Months

Avonlea is 7 months!!
May 30, 2019

Avonlea is 15lb 10oz and 26inches long. She wears mostly 6 months clothes. She wears size 3 diapers both day and night. She has blue eyes and the pediatrician said they won’t change now. Yay! No teeth.

She is a wild little child. Always moving those arms and legs. She can sit now pretty much unassisted, not ready for sitting in a shopping cart, but improved a lot since last month. She continues to roll both ways and it’s fun to see where she ends up or what she can reach. She loves to swing at the park. She loves riding in the stroller and just watching all that goes on in front of her. She enjoys the wind in her face. She likes being on the blanket outside and just being apart of it all. She enjoys grass too, likes to pull it out and try and eat it. She has been a good sport of soccer. Loves the outdoors.  She enjoys sitting in the high chair and watching what goes on. She also likes to drop all her toys off the tray. She loves music and singing. She loves baths. She is a talker, jabbers a lot of the time. She will even screech for a time.  She loves the grass, she pulls it out and tries to eat it. She likes to eat her dressed or skirts that can lip up.

She continues to be a good sleeper, which we are thankful for. She goes to bed around 9:15pm and will often wake up once for a snack, and maybe once just to go back to sleep. She will occasionally sleep through the whole night. She wakes up anywhere from 8-9am. She will often take a nap 2-3 hrs later from anywhere from 45 minutes to 1.5hrs. She will then lay down again around 2:30-3:30pm for another 1.5hr or so. She will fall asleep on the car seat too when she needs to. She is out her sleep sack and she is often on her belly when she sleeps. She is so happy when she wakes up and gives a big stretch and kicks and flails around with joy when she see's us. We all love going to get her for that reason.

She likes to eat as well and continues to do a good job. She never eats very good once she wakes up, but gets better at the second meal. She drinks a combo of breastmilk and formula. When we are home, she gets milk, but when we are away from the home she takes formula- and takes it with no issues, thankfully. She drinks anywhere from 4-8oz depending on the time of the day. She always gets formula before bed as it seems to stay with her more than my milk, especially as I have been weaning. She has started solids and is doing well with them. She likes pears, peaches, prunes, and sweet potatoes. Somethings she will tolerate but doesn’t love. The thicker ones she does not like. She will often suck her thumb in between bites, it makes us laugh. She likes to scratch on her bib as well as chew on it, as the silicone feels good on her gums.
I continue to pump as the weaning process is a long one. I am down to about 15oz a day and pumping 4 times a day. Slowly but surely.

Avonela does not like falling over when sitting and landing on her head. She does not like to be cleaned up after eating solids. She does not like it when the bottle finishes and she doesn't think she had enough.

She has such a fun personality and it a sweet little joy!
