Avonlea: 6 Months

Avonlea is 6 Months!!
April 30, 2019

She is 15lbs and 25inches long. She is wearing size 2 diapers during the day, size 3 at night.
She is wearing size 3 clothes and some 6 month. She still has blue eyes. No teeth.

She continues to be a happy, growing girl. Lots of smiles, squeals and laughs. She loves watching the kids play, loves when they come and talk to her. They love to come and wake her up or see her first thing in the morning or after naps. She enjoys her toys, but can easily get unhappy when on her belly and stuck. She can roll both ways, but doesn't roll to her back that often. She is trying to sit up so much and is getting there, but still needs a pillow around her or she will topple over. No signs of crawling anytime soon. She loves baths, loves swinging in the swings, loves stroller rides. She does a good job in her car seat in the car. She is a talker and squealer. She loves being new places and looking around. Very alert and curious. She has such a fun personality. She really likes to play games with you and loves face to face time. She enjoys the Johnny Jump up for a short time. She enjoys the bouncers for a short time...but enjoys being up off the ground and up seeing more that is going on, like in the highchair. She loves to suck her thumb. She likes to gnaw on her tongue and will often have bruises. Her arms and legs are bust bust busy. Her tongue continues to be wild.

She is a good sleeper. She has become very easy to get down to sleep and we are so thankful. She goes to bed around 9:00pm and wakes up once or none at all. I will feed her 6-7oz in the middle of the night. She wakes up from 8-9am. She will take two naps. One around 2-2.5 hrs after waking up. And then one around 2-3pm. Naps can be 1-2hrs. I think it is all of our favorite thing to go and get Avonlea once she wakes up, or to wake her up. She greets you with such a sweet smile and kicks and twists her body in delight to see someone she knows. She will fall asleep in the carseat as well at times. We are transitioning her out of her sleep sack, but not quite there. She sleeps on her belly most the time.

Eating continues to go smoothly. She never seems to be to hungry right away in the morning, but then when I feed her before nap, she eats a good amount. She eats 4-7oz a feeding, depending the time of the day. She eats a mix of breastmilk and formula. At home she eats milk most meals, and while we are away from the house, she eats formula. Thankfully she takes it well. When she is distracted, it is harder for her to eat a full feed. When she is tired and eating a bottle, she often puts her arm over her eyes and eats.
I continue to wean from the pump and it is going slowly but we are making progress. I am pumping 5 times a day and getting about 5oz each time.

She is a fun little sweet pea. We are thankful for our time with her and her addition to our family is so sweet. She is so well loved.
