Avonlea is 2 months old
December 30, 2018
Avonlea is sure growing! She has improved much over this last month and has become less fussy and a little more content. She has learned to smile, so that sure has helped with the hard days to see that sweet little smile. She is always moving her little tongue, moving it in and out. She has some of the most busy little legs we have seen. They are always moving and we say she is riding her invisible bicycle. She is started to track people and catch on to their face and react to them. She loves laying on the changing table and coo's and screeches in delight over there. She stretches so much with legs straight out and arms up. She has been more content under the play gym too, which has helped through out the day. She enjoys bouncing and moving, but not big movements, those she tenses up and freaks out a little bit. Baths seem to be a good experience to her. She enjoys the sound of the water and the washcloth being squeezed out onto her belly. She has the cutest little outie belly button. She enjoys her siblings coming and talking to her. She likes face to face interaction.
She does not like her car seat very much. She will fall asleep in it at some point, but it usually leads with a lot of crying. She doesn't like to have her mouth wiped after eating. She does not like hr boogers getting sucked up. She doesn't seem to like headbands very much, but I need to try more to get her more use to them. She hates when her feet get out of the footed pj's and pulls the pj's down at the neck. She does not like a dirty diaper.
She eats every 2-3 hours during the day and can go all night without a feed. She will drink anywhere from 2 -4 oz at a time. I am still pumping exclusively. She latched a handful of times, but not many. So I pump every 3 hours throughout the day and night.
Avonlea is a good sleeper at night, but has horrible naps during the day. We will spend up to 20 minutes trying to rock her to sleep to have her only sleep maybe 15-20 minutes. It has become very frustrating and a lot of work for a little reap. At night she will go to bed anywhere from 9:30-11:00 and can sleep up to 7 hours before she wakes and then does another 4-5 hour stretch. She often times seems more restless after she wakes and eats in the middle of the night, but doesn't fully get up. She is swaddled and sleeps sometimes in the rock n play and sometimes in the pack n play bassinet in our room.
Some first this month were: First time picking out a Christmas tree and decorating it, first road trip, first Christmas and first smile.
She weighs just over 9lbs and is __ inches long. She is wearing Newborn size clothes and just started wearing size 1 diapers. She still has blue eyes.

I love this little sweetie so much! Thank you for doing the detailed updates. I enjoy reading them so much! Can't wait to meet this little sweetheart :)
