Avonlea is one month!
November 30, 2018
She is a little thing and a sweetie.
She weighs 7lbs and 7.5oz. She is wearing size newborn clothes and diapers. She has blue eyes.
She loves to kick her feet and move her tongue in and out and all around. She has gotten a little bit more alert. Her belly button stub fell out this month and it is the cutest little outty belly button. She has the cutest sneezes and works up to them.
She enjoys laying on the changing table which is by the dinner table and her stretches are SO cute. She likes looking at lights. She likes the baby carrier. Her little hands still shake quite a bit when she is awake and moving around. She does little squeals and screeches here and there. She makes her mouth into an “o” when she is filling her pants with something. She kinks her neck when you hold her, always pushing back to look around. She stiffens her whole body a lot. She has hit her animals hanging on her play gym a few times and held on to the rings.
She sleeps fairly well at night, in 4 hr stretches most nights and then during the day she stays up around 45-1hr at a time in between feed and nap. She sleeps in her rock n play and sometimes in the pack n play in the bassinet position in our room. She loves being wrapped up in a big blanket like a burrito. She sleeps with the noise maker on. She slept some of the month swaddled and some of the month unswaddled. She clearly likes her hands out by her face, but she wakes herself up more too. She will fall asleep in the car seat, if the timing is right. And she has fallen asleep in the carrier as well. She has had some pretty fussy times throughout the day and in the evenings. Nothing will calm her down, or very little.
She eats every 2-3 hrs. She struggles with nursing, but we keep trying and she does every now and then. But until then, I pump and she drinks breastmilk from the bottle. But she enjoys getting her food fast from the bottle. She drinks 2.5oz - 3oz most times. She often cluster feeds around bedtime. She likes to suck on our finger from time to time. But we don’t do that very often.
She does not like when her feet come out of the footie pj’s because they are just a little too big. She does not care too much for baths at this point. She doesn’t like it when boogies are being taken from her nose.
Some first this month are her first bath in the tub. Her 1st Thanksgiving. First time shopping for a Christmas tree and decorating it.
