We have created our first holes in the wall in the last week.
We got our bathroom hardware and some of our blinds.
In the master bathroom we put towel bars behind our door.
They fit and work perfectly.
Since we put the towels behind the door, we couldn't have our robe hook over the door…too much behind the door. So instead we put robe hooks on each side of the opening into the closet.
In this picture they aren't up yet, but they are up and nice to have as well.
Here is the upstairs guest bathroom.
You can see the toilet paper holder and the hand towel ring up.
We are very happy with them.
They are also in the master bathroom and in the guest bathroom in the basement.
Then in the guest bathrooms we have a long towel bar by the shower and a shorter one over the toilet.
And then some robe hooks on the wall as well.
A close up! :)
We ordered blinds for the two upstairs bedrooms about a week before our close date.
We just finally got them on Monday. Not sure what took so long, but they are here now. So we took the blankets and pins down. :)
We only got two at first because we wanted to make sure we liked them before we got them for all the windows.
We are glad we did that. We like the style of blinds - 2 inch vertical blinds…but we don't care for the color. The one we chose has a little bit of texture to it, but it is a little off our wall color. You either want to spot on OR obvious contrast. It is neither.
But we can live with them and try to find something better for the other windows!
Functionally…they work just great! Happy to have natural light in the bedrooms again!
We had to get a ladder too…since we have 14 ft ceilings in our living/dining/kitchen area, we knew it would only be a matter of time before we would need to get up there to a light or the fan.
Chris found this ladder that can get up to 22 feet (enough to get on the roof) and it does all other sorts of fancy things. Will be very helpful!
Ryken was trying to be like Daddy here! He's just too brave…or curious!
We are still working on ideas for window coverings for the big window in the living room as well as our back sliding door.
Should be soon though! :)
Our new neighbors behind us just moved in yesterday…and they too do not have any window coverings…and we have the same floor plan…so one of us…or both of us needs to get them soon!
