Avonlea: ELEVEN months

Avonlea is 11 Months!!
September 30, 2019

Avonlea is 19lbs 13oz and is 27.75inches long. She wears 9-12 months clothes. She wears size 3 diapers during the day and just stared wearing size 4 during the night. She has 4 teeth out: 2 on the bottom and 2 on the top.

This little miss is all over the place these days. She is crawling everywhere, sometimes bear crawl, sometimes just normal crawling. She will crawl and then sit on a foot and have her other knee up and perch and suck her thumb, then go again. It is so cute. She loves the thumb and sucks it a lot. I am thankful she doesn't get sick more because of all she touches and what she ends up putting in her mouth. A few weeks ago, she started pulling herself up on things and she loves doing that now. Up and down, up and down all day long. Her favorite is standing at the couch, at one of Chris or I's chair or at the bench in the kitchen. She lets go and hangs on with just one hand, while she sucks her thumb with the other. At our chairs, she will stand and then lay her head down on the end of the chair and suck her thumb. See what I mean, lots of thumb sucking. We may have ourselves a problem later when we try to wean her...but for now, it helps her sleep and it is so darn cute. She loves to get a horsey ride on daddy's knee. She just watches her hand bounce along with her and will often make a noise to go with it all. She loves to play with the kids and be chased by them. She loves music and dances when she hears it. She loves to chew on things. She loves to eat grass, leaves, rocks and anything she can find outside. She loves to go on walks and feel the wind in her air- the more wind the better! She just giggles and screeches. She enjoys swinging at the park and learned how to climb up the stairs there too. She loves to pull out all her diapers out of the bin in the living room. She likes baths and makes a huge mess with splashing these days and now stands and scares us all. She loves to climb up by the TV and touch the speakers, or crawls behind the chairs and get the cords. She loves door stops. She enjoys playing downstairs where she doesn't go all that often. She likes to take books off the shelves. She loves greeting Dad when he comes home and she likes to go with daddy up to our closet when he changes out of his clothes after work. She is a little joy all around. Such a happy baby girl!

Avonlea is enjoying more and more food these days. She likes too feed herself and doesn't tolerate a spoon on her mouth very good. She enjoyed fruit like peaches, mandarin oranges and pears.  She loves cheese, gold fish, pirate bootie, crackers, fig bars, pickles, olives, carrots, chicken, black beans...and some other things. She typically only drinks a bottle before she us going to sleep. So usually 3 -4 times a day at 8oz of formula a bottle. Once before her morning nap, once before her afternoon nap, once before bed and in the middle of the night if she wakes up. She is a messy eater and hope that improves over time - but for now, we let her eat in her diaper most of the time, or try and remember to put a bib on her. She likes to smear the food around on her tray and will often find it on the floor as well.

Avonlea continues to be a good sleeper. She wakes up happy and we all love to go in and get her. She loves to stand in her crib now and that is how we often find her in the morning- just waiting. She will wake up anywhere from 7am-9am. More common between 8-8:30am. She will have a later morning nap around 11-11:30 and sleep till 1or so. Then again around 4-4:30 and sleeps till 6-6:30pm. She sleeps on her belly and sucks her thumb. She sucks her thumb and then holds on to her long sleeve of shirt or pj. It's cute, she finds great comfort in her thumb. She typically goes to bed around 9-9:30 after we put the big kids to bed. She drinks a bottle and then says goodnight to daddy and than down she goes in her crib. She is a good sleeper at church when we need her to nap and are thankful that we can lay her down with little trouble in the other room.

We are thankful for this sweet girl in our family! She is loved by all! Lots of people come and snatch her at church and love on her as well.
