Road Trip 2017 - Part 1

Friday, May 12

We left Friday around dinner and drove to Mandan and stayed the night with Chris' parents.
It was nice to be able to see them for a bit and both of his sisters and their families were there as well.

Saturday, May 13

We got going mid morning and stopped to see Salem Sue! Chris had memories of this and shared them with us.
We passed so many beautiful sceneries along the way.
Made it to Montana.
I had never been! Fun to be in and see a new state!

Sunday, May 14

The place that we had booked for our AirBnB in Billings, was not even 2 minutes from the church we had chose to go to before we planned our trip. So that was nice!
All I wanted for Mother's Day - a picture with my kids!
Raya was thrilled to have a special drink and cookie from lunch!! She was dancing!
Idaho boarder!
Big horn sheep coming down the mountain.
Drayden loved having a stick in his hand. It kept him occupied for good amounts of time! And he didn't even eat it.
We made it to our place in Driggs, Idaho and there was a park we played at while Chris ran to Walmart!
I could get use to these mountains around everywhere!
Ryken was playing soccer with a rock and enjoying it so well!
A new favorite picture of the 3 of them!

Monday, May 15

Today, we spent the day in Yellowstone and around the Teton Mountains!
We saw so much wildlife! Way cool!
Painted Pots
Penny Stretchers... we love getting one at each place we go. A cheap souvenir for the kids!

Partially frozen lake!

Tuesday, May 16

Our condo in Driggs before we left!
Raya found a special rock and wanted to bring it with us...but she just got a picture of it with Daddy.
On to Utah!
Ate at this amazing taco place and it was Taco Tuesday! :)
We went to a Ancient Life museum in Levi, UT!
Lots of neats things to see!
Ryken got to try and build a dinosaur...but the velcro was old and didn't stick very well. But he persisted!
They had this neat hands on sand/water play thing for the kids!
This was their favorite part!
Ryken was amazed by it all as well!
WOW!
We made it to our AirBnB in Provo, UT and it was the cutest little place!
The kids were so excited for their minion beds!
Once kids were asleep, Chris and I both enjoyed some of our favorite things.
Aresenal soccer game and Peanut Butter Cup ice cream! (Yes, I shared!)

Wednesday, May 17

We drove to Brian Head, UT in the morning and we were not properly dressed for what we found there. Lots of snow!
We were at a ski resort.
Another cute little place!
Kids loved the bunkbeds!
Chris carrying both kids in the snow- down the stairs...again. He went up and down them so many times brining all our things in when we first got there.
We roasted marshmallows over the stove. Kids thought it was great!
And enjoyed eating them!
Silly Raya!
So during the night....well around 4:30am Raya comes into our room and we thought she either had chocolate all over her face or blood. Sure enough, she had a big bloody nose. She was sleeping on the top bunk and she had blood all over the bedding and she sat at the top of the stairs for a good amount of time with the amount of blood that had pooled. There was a trail of blood down the stairs, down the hallway, into our room and on our bedding as well. Poor thing. We got it stopped and saw the damage done. Did I mention that all the bedding was white??! Yeah, so that next morning, we had lots of loads to do and got most of it out...but we got behind 2 hours.
But while we waited, Ryken and Raya learned how to play Uno, so that was fun!

Once we finally got in the van, all 3 kids were out in hardly no time!
We enjoyed our drive to the Grand Canyon!
Love those red rocks!!
Ryken is learning life skills at the pump!
We made it!
We were so thankful that the Lord allowed it to stop raining and the sun came out so we could see just how much beauty there was!
It did not disappoint at all!
Saw this awesome sunset at a gas station we were at, at the moment!
Then we were almost to our destination for the night and we ran into a good amount of snow flying at  us!
We made it to Flagstaff and stayed the nigh with my sister and her family, in their new house!!

Stay tuned for Part 2!
