National Pancake Day is March 3,
so of course we had to enjoy such a fun day, by doing pancake themed activities for a week or so!
Excited to make some pancakes!
Counting "blueberries" on pancakes and matching the number!
He could count the blueberries, but he still doesn't know what numbers match up to them!
Ryken was flipping pancakes after he identified the letter!
The letter identification is still a challenge, but he had fun flipping them!

Ryken was 12 pancakes high
and Sorraya was 10 pancakes!
In the book Pancakes, Pancakes, the boy has to go and get all the different ingredients to make the pancakes, so here Ryken is practicing drawing lines from the product to where it comes from. Example: bag of flour comes from wheat field!
We made some Mexican Pancakes!
These were very tasty! They had coconut, cinnamon and lime in them!

Both kids enjoyed them!
We took a survey on which what were peoples favorite pancake topping!
I had sent out a bunch of texts asking people, and then the idea came to just post it on Instagram to get more replies! But we got more replies though text!
I wrote down each person's response in either blue, red or yellow -for Blueberries, strawberries or bananas. Then Ryken picked up one at a time and knew what it was by the color! We made a graph to see what was the most popular topping of choice!!
Blueberries won without a doubt!
We also made German pancakes!
These were interesting, as you cooked them in a pan in the oven! But they too were tasty! We would tweak the recipe again next time to add a little more flavor to the actual pancake...but with all those good fruity toppings, we didn't complain!

We had them all flipped over and we would take turns just flipping over 2. He did great at remembering where the other one was if the two he flipped over were not a match! I was impressed!
It was a fun impromptu unit...but we are sick of pancakes for a little while now! ;)
