The day has come!

Our baby is 1 year old!
We started out the day right...
with breakfast
with a candle in it!!
After a morning of playing and his morning nap, the fun began!
Ryken was such a sport smiling so nice for the camera!
Very excited to be 1 year old!

Happy Birthday Ryken!
Ryken does not know how to put one finger up for being asked "how old are you?"
But he will when someone starts singing "This Little Light of Mine".
Worked out nice!!
Ryken went straight from the cake chair, to the bath tub....leaving a trail of cake as he was being carried.
The party continued in the tub!
It was time for his first hair cut!

He sat very still for him and it took no more than 5 minutes!
And there were no tears!
I kept the hair, of course.

We decided we are going to pick a Psalm (from the Psalter) for each child that sets forth the hope we have for them in their life.
We picked Psalm 1 for Ryken.
This also happens to be one of the first song Chris ever sang to Ryken when he needed calming down.
We plan to sing the Psalm picked for each child on their birthday.
We also will write a birthday letter each year!
It was a wonderful day celebrating our sweet Ryken!
We are so thankful to God for him and look forward to watching him grow this year.
